Materials

Construction materials

The cartridge body can be manufactured in different engineering materials depending on the chemical compatibility required.

  • Acrylic resin for standard laboratory use
  • PEEK / PAEK for solvent-oriented workflows
  • PPS for solvent-oriented workflows

PEEK, PAEK and PPS are recommended for OSN applications.

Rotor compatibility

Each CentrivaLab family is designed around a specific rotor angle and tube class. The cartridges drop into the rotor positions of standard fixed-angle centrifuges — no adapters required.

Rotor compatibility — 50/34

Floor superspeed (~34°)

  • Beckman Avanti J + JA-20 — 8 × 50 mL, 34°, 20 000 rpm (reference)
  • Thermo Sorvall RC-5/RC-6 + SS-34 — 8 × 50 mL, 34°, 20 500 rpm
  • Thermo Sorvall Lynx 4000/6000 + Fiberlite F21-8×50y — 8 × 50 mL, 34°, 20 000 rpm
  • Thermo Heraeus Biofuge Stratos + HFA 15.50 — 8 × 50 mL, 34°, 23 300 rpm (benchtop)
